Miss Sallie A. Bachman, aged 77 years, died at the old Bachman home on Horse Creek, five miles out from Kingsport, this morning. She had been an invalid since about two years ago when she fell and injured her hip, the injury resulting in complications which eventually caused her death.
Funeral services will be conducted from the home at 11 o'clock Sunday morning, with Rev. T. P Johnston, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Kingsport, officiating. The services at the home will be followed by interment in the nearby family burial ground. Pall bearers and flower bearers have not as yet been announced.
Miss Bachman was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bachman, deceased, and was the last member of the old Bachman family. Three sisters and one brother preceded her to the grave: they were Mrs. Ellen Pendleton, Miss Anne Bachman, Mrs. Mollie Boyer and Matt Bachman. Her half-sister, Mrs. Cora A. Swanney of Washington, D.C., came to her home four months ago and was with her at the time of her death. A half-brother, Tom Bachman, died some time ago.
Miss Bachman was a woman of sterling character and her death will be mourned by a host of friends.
