Rita M. Lynett, 87, of Springfield and longtime resident of Toledo, has died at a local care center of age-related causes.
Born in Condon, to Charles and Maude Dyer, she married John Lynett, in Portland, on May 2, 1933. They have celebrated more than 62 years of marriage.
She graduated from Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Portland in 1931 and worked at the New England Hospital in Toledo, until her retirement. They moved to Springfield 13 years ago.
In addition to her husband, John of Springfield, survivors include two daughters; Rita Wafford (and her husband Chuck) of Springfield and Kathleen Rice (and her husband Jerry) of Eugene; a sister, Bessie Winters of Hermiston; as well as eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, which woould have been her 88th birthday, at West Lawn Memorial Park.
Major-Fredericksen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
