She was the 5th child of James Byrd Farmer (1873) and Annie Addie Lowry (1881). She was born at their farm in Donaldson, Caldwell, Kentucky in 1909. She married William L Byard (1908) of Clarksburg, Tennessee, January 11,1930 in Toledo, Ohio. They had two children and lived in Michigan most of their lives until they retired to Florida in the mid 1960s.
