Virginia Lee McClain, 82, Harrisonville, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City.
She was born April 1, 1919, in Kansas City, the daughter of Charles & Julia Marie (Bessenbacher) Beck.
On August 16, 1941, she married A.W. "Jim" McClain.
Mrs. McClain lived in Kansas City before moving to Harrisonville in 1946.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville.
Mrs.cClain was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her husband, A.W. "Jim" McClain, of the home; a son, James M. McClain, Kansas City; three daughters, PattyBaska, Shawnee, Kan., Julie Cooper, Harrisonville, and Kathleen Potts, St.Peters; two brothers, Frank and Bill Beck, both of Harrisonville; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday, Nov. 24, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, with the Rev. Bradley Offutt officiating. Gail Thompson was the soloist and Henry Hamilton was the pianist.
Burial was in the Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, Bates Co., under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lady of Lourdes Church Building Fund.
