Lyytia (Lydia) Juhontytar Panula was the eight child of Juha Jaakonpoika Panula Kero and Maria Matintytar Teikari.

She was the second wife of Yrjo Kustaa (George Gustaf) Erkkila. Yrjo had lost his first wife during child birth. It is believed he knew Lyydia from his earlier years in Lapua, Finland.

Gust married Lyytia very shortly after his daughter's birth and wife's subsequent death They were married in Missoula on the 8th of September 1911.

Lyytia, upon marriage, moved to Missoula, Montana and became the step-mother to Jack (1907) and Elmi Marie (1911).

Lydia lived an active life, often traveling back and forth from Minnesota to see friends.

Lydia is buried with her husband in Missoula Cemetery, Missoula, Montana.
