THE PARIS NEWS, Sep 16, 2011, page 3A. - Ellis Lee Learned, 68, of Paris, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at his home after a long battle with lung cancer. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home and no formal services are scheduled at this time.
Mr. Learned was born Feb. 7, 1943, in Kankakee, Ill., the son of Sylvester Lloyd and Barbara Jane Flint Learned. He graduated high school and attended UCLA. He married Brenda Sue McJunkin on March 22, 1963, in North Hollywood, Calif. He was a manager in several positions prior to retiring and moving to Paris.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Learned is survived by his wife of 48 and a half years, Brenda Sue Learned of Paris; his daughter, Karen Leigh Learned Thompson and husband, David, of Plano; four grandchildren, Reed, Drew, Trent and Ansley Thompson of Plano; three sisters, Marcia Ludwick and husband, Bill, of McClusky, N.D., Sandra Dobbs of McClusky, and Donna Hix and husband, Weldon, of Visalia, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
