Ray Jenkins, 88, of Trimble, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at Sumner County Regional Medical Center in Gallatin.
He was the retired owner of Jenkins Food Market in Trimble, a U.S. Army veteran who served in World War II along with four of his brothers, a member of Cool Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and former member of the American Legion.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Allison Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Cool Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane Jenkins Norsworthy and husband David of Newbern, and Peggy Jenkins Griffin and husband Perry of Gallatin; four grandchildren, Kim Norsworthy Johnson and husband Joey of Trimble, Melanie Kemp Smith and husband Don of Cottontown, Jonathan Kemp and wife Heather of Smyrna, and Nicole Coulston of Brownsville; and six great-grandchildren, Emily Johnson of Trimble, Meagan Smith of Cottontown, Reece McClanahan of Smyrna, Katlin Smith of Cottontown, Nick Kemp of Smyrna and Tyler Smith of Cottontown.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche M. Jenkins; his parents, Thomas S. and Mattie Lou Bradford Jenkins; six brothers; four sisters; and a granddaughter, Laura Griffin.
Pallbearers will be Mike Minton, Chris Minton, Siegal Jackson, Elvis Sturdivant, Bruce Pope, Bryan Pope, Mike Pruitt and Mickey Robertson.
The family requests that memorials be made to Cool Springs Cemetery Fund, c/o Mike Minton, 2 Cool Springs Road, Trimble, TN 38259.
