Genon Ogden, 82, of Huntsville, Arkansas, died August 19, 2002, at his home. He was born November 30, 1919, at Witter, Arkansas, the son of Delbert David and Sara Eden Ogden. He was a retired merchant and farmer and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, George Ogden, one sister, Mrs. Velma Harriman, two nephews and two nieces.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Imogene Watkins Ogden of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Sue Ogden of Farmington, Arkansas, Mike and Marjorie Ogden of Wharton Creek, Arkansas and P.J. and Melissa Ogden of Aurora, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Archie and Ruby Ogden of Witter, Arkansas; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Bryant of Saint Paul, Arkansas and Mrs. Arlene Venscent of Yakima, Washington; three grandchildren, Taylor Ogden, Cynthie Ogden and Haylie Ogden; and five stepgrandchildren, Ernie Finnestead, Candi Finnestead, Samantha Finnestead, Jimmy Finnestead and Elizabeth Finnestead.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville. Pallbearers will be Dester Ogden, Randy Watkins, John Evans, Norman Fulson, John Paul Davis and Freddie Guthrie. Honorary pallbearers will be: Buck Ham, Dalton Holloway, Don Crow and Jim Watkins. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
