Katherine Abelson, of Hixson, TN passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011. She was born in Smyrna, TN, she was retired from retail and real estate sales.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Marcus Abelson; a son, James Edwin Disbrow; and a grandson, Scott Tidwell.
Survivors are six children, Kathy Tidwell, of Harriman, TN, David (Marilyn) Disbrow, of Keystone Heights, FL, Christy (Bob) Law, of Wildwood, GA, Candace Seymour, of Red Bank, TN, Kelly Farris, of Red Bank, TN and Kara Disbrow, of Corryton, TN; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Katherine will be buried next to her husband at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will have a private memorial service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 2411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory & Florist, North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN.
