J.R. AUSTIN DIES rites held today
James Robert Austin 75, a life resident of Lauderdale County and the Cloverdale Community, died Saturday at 9:06 pm at ECM Hospital.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Minnie K. Austin, Cloverdale, Route one, two daughters Mrs. Reba Taylor, Florence, Mrs. Althea Chowning, Cloverdale, seven sons, Loyd, Jacksonville, Fl., Earl, Dayton Beach, Fl., John, Sheffield, Douglas, Cloverdale Route one, Coy, Robert, and J.R. all of Florence, three sisters, Mrs. Emma Rose, Florence, Mrs. Fannie Huckaba, Nashville, Mrs. Madge Koonce, Florence, one brother John Austin, Cloverdale and 13 grandchildren,
He was a member of the Baptist church for the past 55 years.
Services were held today at 2 pm at the Liberty Baptist Church in the Central community. The Rev. Floyd Olive of Nashville, Tn officiated.
Burial followed in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Active bearers were Estes Koonce, Eugene Marks, Earl Koonce, Dupree Austin, L.C. Simmons, and Homer Lovelace
Honorary bearers were Clyde Austin, Luther Simmons, Grandville Simmons, W.L. Davis, Earl Anderson, Dr. J.D. Walden, Bryan Austin, Wayne Moore, and B.M. McCorkle, O.E. Barr, and Herman Longshore
