Mr. Johnson was a 1967 graduate of Bowling Green State University, where he was a member of the Theta Chi fraternity, and attended graduate school at American University in Washington D.C. He was the president of Schaff Piano Supply in Lake Zurich.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Laurie F. (nee Fuhrman), whom he married July 25, 1975, in Oak Park; his children, Megan (Edward) Spiegel of Barrington, Jennifer (Steven) Dalzell of Crystal Lake and Lindsey of Barrington; his grandchildren, Justin David Spiegel, and Alexandra Rose and Christopher Steven Dalzell; his mother, Lucie Florence (nee Nichols) of Lake Barrington Shores; his sister, Katherine Elizabeth of Evanston; and his brothers, Stephen (Jane) and Herb (Pattie).
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Emery.
