Aileen Cherry Abernethy, 94, of Nacogdoches, died Dec. 30 at her residence. Funeral services were Jan. 1 in Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Dr. Allen Reed and Rev. Bobby Smith of First Baptist Church officiated.
Mrs. Abernethy was born Nov. 25, 1901, in Wolfe City, the daughter of John Henry Cherry and Mary Olynthia Tittsworth. She was married to Talbot Abernethy April 19, 1925. She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Talbot Abernethy of Nacogdoches; a son, F. E. Abernethy; and five grandchildren.
