Survivors include his wife, Esther of Colorado Springs; one son, Chris A. Anderson of Spencer; one daughter, Mrs. Janet Steffen of Colorado Springs; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Walton Walton of Spencer

Nels Peter Anderson, the son of Chris and Christine Larsen Anderson, was born May 11, 1912, in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the community of Royal, and it was there that he received his early education.
Nels was married to Esther M. Kunzmann on August 16, 1937, in Spencer. Throughout the majority of their married life Spencer was their home, where Nels worked for Spencer Foods for a number of years. He operated a bar in Milford for 9 years before moving to Colorado Springs in 1971. Nels was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in that community.
Mr. Anderson passed away in Colorado Springs on October 22, 1981, at the age of 69.
