"Robert Ford Boutwell, Jr., 82, of New Orleans (formerly of Hattiesburg), passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2011.
Retired, Mr. Boutwell was a finance manager for Bankers Credit Service of New York. He served in the USAF, receiving the Berlin Air Lift Clasp, Korean War and Army Occupation Service Medals. He was a past president of the New Orleans Bromeliad Society, the Metairie Lion's Club and was of the Baptist faith.
Born in Piave, Mississippi, he was the beloved son of Robert Ford Boutwell, Sr. and Nellie Mapp Boutwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William James Boutwell.
A loving father and grandfather, he is survived by his daughter, Robin Boutwell Blache and her husband, Robert of New Orleans; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Ashley and Courtney Alexis both of New Orleans; and two great-grandchildren, Haylee Nicole and Gage Shane of New Orleans. He is also survived by his sister, Merle Rogers of Tupelo.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg at 12:30 p.m. followed by graveside services at Highland Cemetery at 1:30 p.m., where he will be laid to rest in the Boutwell family plot."
