William V. Finley, Jr., 68, Kansas City, MO, passed away at his home, Friday, February 4, 2005. A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of KC, 100 W. Red Bridge Rd., on Monday, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the church on Tuesday, at 10 a.m., followed by burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Kansas City Chapter of The American Red Cross or the Alpine Pet Clinic, 1600 E. Hale Lake Rd., Warrensburg, MO 64093. Mr. Finley was born March 20, 1936, in Kansas City, MO, and lived in the area most of his life. He graduated from Southeast High School in 1954. He was employed by Truman Medical Center and retired in 2004. He enjoyed fishing and boating. He was an active volunteer for the Kansas City Chapter of the American Red Cross. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Martha Finley; daughters, Cheryl Stewart, Linda Finley, Michelle Teetor, and Lisa Shafer; son-in-law, David Shafer; five grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; one sister, Shirley Clarke; many nieces and nephews; and by his faithful and protective companion, his dog, Corky.
