His mother, Fanny, died when Bill was 5 years old. With his father and two brothers, he moved to Concordia, Kansas where Bill grew to manhood.
He was employed at Concordia Ice and Cold Storage. He married Margaret Mae Doak on June 3, 1916 in Concordia, Kansas. In 1918, they moved to Benkelman, Nebraska where Bill engaged in farming.
He and his wife bought their own farm in 1956. Bill and Mae celebrated their golden anniversary in June of 1966.
Bill passed away suddenly in his home on Dec 14, 1967, at the age of 73. To this union, three children were born.
