Born Vincent Stanley Strzalka son of Vincent John Strzalka and Stephania Rycsko. His mother died within 2 weeks of giving him birth and he was raised by his father and stepmother Stephania Nawrocki. As a boy he gained respect from his peers by participating in boxing matches held in empty rail cars in Oil City, Pa. Many feared his powerful right punch. During the depression he road the rails to California and back in search of work. He married Dorothy Jeanette Stevenson on 2 July 1941. He retired after 35 years working at the Pennzoil Plant in Oil City, Pa. He narrowly escaped being injured in a horrific explosions and fire that killed several of his fellow workers. Vince had his name changed to William Vincent Strzalka. He was survived in death by three children, Janice Elaine Bryan of Oil City, Patricia Ann Shaw of Memphis,TN. And James Albert Strzalka of Memphis, TN. and eleven grandchildren. He was a loyal brother to the children of Stephania Nawrocki and loved her and showed her the respect and affection that a Mother deserves. Vince was a perfectionist which he demonstrated in his workmanship as pipefitter, carpenter, and painter. His home was spotless, property well maintained, automobiles clean and waxed, and he always wore a tie and coat to church on Sunday. He was a hardworking loving man that is greatly missed by family and friends.
