Rachel Anne Adams, age 79, a former resident of Valley Head, Ohio and a resident of Richmond Heights, Ohio passed from this life Wednesday morning, August 24, 2011 at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
Rachel was born on Wednesday, April 6, 1932, at Valley Head, Ohio, a daughter of the late Roscoe T. Marple and Mamie Snyder Marple. On April 16, 1954, at Elkins, Ohio, she was married to Jennings K. Adams, who survives in Richmond Heights.
Left to cherish Rachel's memory are: husband of fifty-seven years, Jennings; her daughter, Vicki Hayenga (Kevin) of Willoughby, Ohio; her son, Randall K. Adams )Cathy) of Perry, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Sheets, Shannon Adams, and Christopher Adams; one great- granddaughter, Lola Horvath; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was one granddaughter, Jennifer Sheets; two brothers, John Marple and Augustus "Gusty" Marple; two sisters, Elizabeth Marple and Mary Jean Hamrick.
Rachel was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School with the class of 1950 and was a homemaker.
A visitation will be held at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church at Valley Head on Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 12 noon until 3:00 PM at the funeral home and Pastor Ann Fretwell will officiate. Interment will follow at the Valley Head Cemetery.
