Henry entered the military in 1918, serving with the Army during WWI. After his discharge, Henry returned to Cherokee County where he farmed for a number of years.
On February 2, 1950 Henry married Carrie Christina Anderson in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Henry continued farming for a few more years before moving to Spencer in the late 1950's. After moving to Spencer, Henry helped his wife manage Carrie's Custodial Home. He retired in 1969. Henry was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church; American Legion, Glen Pederson Post #1; and V.F.W, Clay County Post #3159.
Mr. Everhart passed away on December 10, 1987, at Northshire Residence in Spencer, at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother; and two sisters.
He is survived by his daughter Vera Mae
