Henry Edward Everhart, the son of John and Anna (Piggott) Everhart, was born August 22, 1895, in Cherokee County, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Cherokee County, and it was in the country schools that he received his early education.

Henry entered the military in 1918, serving with the Army during WWI. After his discharge, Henry returned to Cherokee County where he farmed for a number of years.

On February 2, 1950 Henry married Carrie Christina Anderson in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Henry continued farming for a few more years before moving to Spencer in the late 1950's. After moving to Spencer, Henry helped his wife manage Carrie's Custodial Home. He retired in 1969. Henry was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church; American Legion, Glen Pederson Post #1; and V.F.W, Clay County Post #3159.

Mr. Everhart passed away on December 10, 1987, at Northshire Residence in Spencer, at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother; and two sisters.

He is survived by his daughter Vera Mae
