FORT WORTH - Bruce Umbreit, 73, passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010.

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth.

Bruce was born Jan. 13, 1937, to William and Ruth Umbreit. He was one of six children. He joined the U.S. Air Force and in his spare time he started Rushmore Radio and T.V. in Lincoln, Neb. He married Darlene Lottman in 1954 and together they started a family. He retired from the Air Force as a chief master sergeant in 1980 after 27 years of service.

In his spare time, Bruce loved camping and fishing. He also loved going to the Omni Theater and the Botanical Gardens. He also loved family gatherings such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. He will be greatly missed.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Gerald, Douglas and Curtis.

Survivors: Wife, Darlene Umbreit; children, Kathy Umbreit, Bill Umbreit and wife, Norma, and Yvonne Clifton; grandchildren, Larry Evans and Alyssa Umbreit; great-grandchildren, Soleil Evans and Madison Munholland; siblings, Wesley Umbreit and Carolyn Maura; and his faithful yorkie-shi tzu, Sherry.
