Kathryn E. Paye, 66, of Saranac Lake died Monday June 9, 2003, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Saranac Lake on Dec. 23, 1936, she was the daughter of Albon and Lucy (Morris) Hurlburt.
Mrs. Paye worked for the American Management Association as assistant to the controller for 38 years before retiring on May 31, 1998. An avid bowler, she was a member of several leagues, including the Merchants League, where she was secretary-treasurer. She was a member of the Women's International Bowling Congress, the Women's Bowling Association, where she held the office of treasurer, and the North Country Women's Progressive Bowling Association. She was a long-time Yankee fan and enjoyed fishing and camping.
She is survived by her former husband, Orville Paye of Saranac Lake; a sister, Evelyn Rich and her husband Dick of Tupper Lake; a brother, George Hurlburt and his wife Marian of Newcomb; several neices and nephews; and many friends, including Jean and Tracy, the Murphy family and Nona Greenier.
Visitation will be held at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Linda McIntyre, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
Friends wishing to remember Mrs. Paye may make memorial contributions to High Peaks Hospice or Tri-Lakes Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
