Puerto Rican actress, comedian, impersonator, and television personality. Carbia's credits include: Ja, ja, ji, ji, jo, jo, con Agrelot, El Silencio Nos Condena, Ahí Va Eso, , La Encubierta Descubierta, Awilda lo Divierte, El Show de Chucho, Estudio Alegre, and Musicomedia, She also starred opposite Juan Manuel Lebrón, Benito Mateo and Rosita Velázquez in the hit Sunday prime-time TV sitcom, En Casa de Juanma y Wiwi. She also starred in the musical 40 Kilates and in a new concept musical titled Desconcierto. She did a Puerto Rican stage rivival of "Guys and Dolls" in 1991 opposite Ivan Rodriguez, had a multiple role in 1998 in a Puerto Rican comedy play Lo Mejor está por Venir portraying three different female characters. As leading lady, Carbia starred in: Al derecho y al revés, Salvemos los delfines, , Cosas de papi y mami, Teatruras de gala, , Morisquetas, and Nacionalmente correcta. She made a comeback to TV in 1999 on Telemundo Channel 2 starring in a new sit-com called Los Seijo Díaz, , again opposite Juan Manuel Lebrón airing until 2003.
Her celebrity impersonations included Myrta Silva, Carmita Jiménez, Lucecita Benítez, Yolandita Monge, and Nydia Caro, among others.

Thoughout her final years she performed one of her leading roles in a film El Sueño del Regreso and in a musical Fuego a la Lata.
Awilda Carbia was honored by Mayor Jorge Santini on October 28, 2008 in an activity held at the Tapia Theater in Old San Juan which included a star-studded concert including Danny Rivera, Chucho Avellanet, Andy Montañez, Jackie Capó, and astrologer Walter Mercado. A café in Puerto Rico was named in her honor.
