Adolph Robert Severson passed away on June 10, 2009 at the LifeCare Roseau Manor at the age of 89.

Adolph was born on September 21, 1919 in Beaver Township of Roseau County, MN to Hannah (Sundmark) and Edwin Severson. He grew up on the family farm and attended the Mortenson County School in Beaver Township.

In June of 1942, Adolph served in the United States Army, serving in WWII, until his honorable discharge in May of 1945. During his service, he earned the Silver Star Medal and 3 Purple Hearts.

He and Marie Ann "Mary" Karlstad were married on April 24, 1947. They were married for 59 years, before Marie's death in 2006. Together they farmed small grains, beef and dairy cattle in Mickinock Township for 57 years. He loved his work on the farm, working with the land and the cows. He enjoyed his horses and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping and traveling to Las Vegas to meet with friends. He moved into the LifeCare Roseau Manor in 2006.

Adolph served on the Mickinock Township Board, the Wannaska School Board, the Shipping Association Board, the Farmers Union Hall Board, Roseau County Cattlemens Association and 4-H Leader.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie; infant son; siblings, Albert, Margie, Elmer, Harold, Clifford, Violet, and infant twin sister's and twin infant grandsons.

Funeral services for Adolph Severson of Roseau will be held on Monday, June 15th at 11 AM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 5-7 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at Helgeson Funeral Home.

Interment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery. Military Rites by the Roseau Memorial Honor Guard.
