She was born June 13, 1918 in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts to Ovella and Kathryn Gemme. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lillian Bete.
She married Congressman Paul Findley. She is survived by two children, Craig (Karyl) Findley, Jacksonville, and Diane (Thomas) McLaughlin, Fort Collins, Colorado; a nephew, Mark (Rena) Hill, Cadiz, Ky.; a niece, Lucille Alford, Tallahassee, Florida; four grandchildren, Andrew (Grace) Findley, St. Louis; Elizabeth Findley, Jacksonville; Cameron McLaughlin, Windsor, Colorado and Henry McLaughlin, Fort Collins, Colorado and one great-grandchild, Dominic Paul Findley.
She served in the Pacific Theatre as a flight nurse stationed on Guam during World War II. and attained the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade.
