Thad, grew up on the family farms in Grant and Tarkio twp, near Shenandoah,Page County,Iowa.He learned many skills working along side his Dad, Eugene on the farms. He attended the Grant one room school located in the SW 1 acre corner of one farm property.Then after graduating from Shenandoah High School he attended, on a full scholarship, Tarkio College, Tarkio. Missouri. The family left Thad to finish his studies at Tarkio College and moved to the family home in Hollywood,California.
After receiving his BA at Tarkio College,Thad joined the family in Hollywood and worked in business and accounting. At the time he entered the Army during WWII he supervised 12 accountants at Douglas Aircraft.
In Hollywood he met his sister's friend Shirley Watson and they soon were married in Las Vegas before Thad enlisted in the Army.
Thad and Shirley had two daughters. They moved to La Crescenta after Thad returned from his WWII duties. Thad died a young man in La Crescenta,California.
