The 1860 Federal Census for Franklin, Arkansas (Saline County) shows Mary Ellen Crowson, age 3, born in Arkansas; living with her father, William N. Crowson, a farmer, age 25, born in Alabama; and her mother, Mary, age 20, born in South Carolina. Also living in the household was Mary Ellen's younger sister, Eugenia Crowson, age 6 months, born in Arkansas. In addition, a boy named Taylor Collett, age 12, born in Georgia, was living with the family.

The 1870 Federal Census for Precinct 4, Texas (Fannin County)(Honey Grove Post Office) shows Mary Ellen Crowson, age 14, born in Arkansas; living with her father, William Crowson, a farmer, age 35, born in Alabama; and her mother, Mary, age 30, born in South Carolina. Also living in the household were Mary Ellen's younger siblings: Isabela Crowson, age 10, born in Arkansas; Rosalee Crowson, age 8, born in Arkansas; Olivia Crowson, age 5, born in Texas; Thomas Crowson, age 3, born in Texas; and Missouri Crowson, age 5 months, born in Texas.

Bledsoe, age 50, born December 1849 in Alabama. Living with them were eight children: Willie Bledsoe, age 22, born June 1877; Kate Bledsoe, age 16, born September 1883; Charlie Bledsoe, age 20, born Agust 1879; Bascum Bledsoe, age 18, born June 1881; Early Bledsoe, age 12, born July 1887; Stella Bledsoe, age 10, born December 1889; Roy Bledsoe, age 8, born February 1892; and Virgie Bledsoe, age 1, born July 1898; all born in Texas, except Willie who was born in Arkansas.

Napoleon died July 23, 1914 in Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County) and was buried there in the Highland Cemetery. Mary Ellen died February 5, 1923 in Durant and was buried in Highland Cemetery beside her husband.
