Funeral services for Jerry J. Kopejtka, age 66 of Verdigre will be held Friday, January 22, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Verdigre. Pastor Norman Prather will officiate with burial in the Jelen Cemetery in Verdigre.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 5-7 P.M. at the Brockhaus Funeral Home in Verdigre.
Jerry Joseph Kopejtka, son of Frank and Agnes (Butterfield) Kopejtka, was born on May 30,1943 at O'Neill, Nebraska. He attended Inman Public School. He married Thelma Mashino on December 31, 1964 in Inman. Four children were born to them; Roxann, Jeff, Todd and Tina. He worked in the O'Neill, Inman and Verdigre areas all his life.
He died on January 16, 2010, at the age of 66 at Creighton Area Health Services.
Survivors include wife; Thelma, sons; Jeff and wife Kris Kopejtka of Yankton, Todd and wife Bonita Kopejtka of Verdigre, daughter; Tina and husband Dan White of Verdigre, 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, son-in-law; Bruce Van Buren of Verdigre, sisters; Lois Henderson, Norma Johnson, Sharon Brinda, Donna Jirsa, Lavon Timm and Nancy Fernau, brothers; Larry Kopejtka, DeWayne Kopejtka and Terry Kopejtka.
He is preceded in death by daughter; Roxann VanBuren, parents; Frank and Agnes Kopejtka and brother; Dennis Kopejtka.
