Kay first married Jerry Lloyd Fobes on March 17, 1951 in Sioux City, Iowa. They had 5 children. Jerry passed away on May 6, 1985. She then married Raymond DeLoof on Jun 14, 1986 at St. Pius V Catholic church in Buena Park, CA.

She was predeceased by her first husband Jerry Fobes and her son Thomas Eugene in 2009.
