Thelma was daughter of Dr. James Lemual Ernest Brantley and Beulah Louise Watson/Brantley.

Thelma had a wonderful life and traveled some with many of her friends. She never married. She had a great job in downtown Atlanta.

Because of Thelma and her keeping many old pictures of her family, they were passed down to a granddaughter of Beulah Louise Watson/Brantley. Because Dr. Brantley was not her grandfather, she gave the pictures to me to post on all the family pages here. I was thrilled to find a cousin. Not only did I find one, but two, as another cousin contacted me the day after Debra did. Linda lives in Texas and Debra in Savannah, Georgia. Now....we are all working on adding names, pictures and information to these pages.

Debra and I met and visited two days after contact. We spent five hours chatting away about this family and the people in it. I don't know who was more excited, but it was a close race. We had so much fun. Many thanks again to Thelma and also to Debra, for passing the pictures down to me, so they could be shared.

Because of the pictures, we had a name of a granddaughter (Dawn), only to find out that she had passed away at age 53. An obituary was found for Dawn's mother, Eunice Pennington/Brantley and in it was her granddaughter's name. I have found her, and we talked at length by phone. She was thrilled with all the pictures on findgrave and we hope that she will join us in our search for all the relatives.

If you are kin to this family, please contact me - we would love to hear from you. You can then join in all the fun and be a part of our Brantley circle.

Note: Since receiving the pictures, I have returned many of them to family members. Thelma had a lot of friends and had pictures of them and their children growing up. One family received 17 Christmas cards - the single piece ones with the children's pictures on them. The Carvers in Florida just received approx. a dozen pictures of them and their two children - from many years ago. I went through all the pictures and put them into groups, then started a search for someone to return them to, as they were not kin to the Brantley's, they were Thelma's friends.

This had made quite a few people happy to get these old memories back. The pictures spent 30 years in a storage shed, waiting to be given to me, then in turn, returned to family members. Those I could not locate family members for, I placed on findagrave, hoping someone would claim them. I hope Thelma is looking down and smiling, knowing that all the things she saved made someone's day all over again.
