Lawrence was the son of Dr. William Alfred Brantley and Virginia Susan Sherrill/Brantley. He was the eighth of nine children.
Lawrence was married to Ossie Mae Ansley/Brantley for 63 years - they married in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia on January 10, 1916. He was a machinist and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He passed away two days before his 89th birthday.
He was a sweetheart of a man - a very kind and gentle soul.
