Francis A. Brightwell, retired miller, died Friday, February 11, 1944, at his home at 519 East Main Street, Westminster. He had been in declining health for some years suffering from a heart condition. He was a son of the late Richard and Ellen Wilson Brightwell and was aged 76 years. He leaves his wife, the former Mary B. Powder, a daughter, Mrs. Howard Stone, Westminster, and a sister, Mrs. Florence Eline, Union Bridge. Mr. Brightwell had formerly been employed at the Englar & Sponseller warehouse.
Services were conducted Monday at 2 P.M. at the F.A. Sharrer & Son funeral home. The Rev. Lowell S. Ensor, pastor of the Westminster Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Meadow Branch Cemetery.
