Rites Held Tuesday for N. Aardema

Funeral services were held at Central Reformed church here at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday for Nick Aardema, 68, long-time resident and a mason by trade, who died at the Veterans hospital in Sioux Falls Friday, July 7, following a brief illness.

A brief service attended by members of the family was held at the little chapel preceding the service at the church.
The Rev. Marion Klaaren conducted the services. Burial was made in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery under the direction of Co-operative Funeral Service.

Mr. Aardema was born in Sioux Center on July 27, 1892, and had resided in this community all his life with exception of a period during World War I when he served in France.

He was married to Jeanette Schortinghuis January 21, 1921.
To this union three children were born, One son, Charles, died during Worl War II.

Survivors include the widow of Sioux Center; two daughters, Grace (Mrs. Albert Kelderman) of Luverne, Minn.; and Irene at home; three brothers, Simon of Doon, Charles of Hull, John of Bellflower, Cal.; three sisters, Annie of Saugatuck, Mich.; Mrs. Mike Vos of Hardwick, Minn.; Mrs. Datus Salie of Bolden; and six grandchildren.

Others who preceded him in death were his parents, Charels and Emma (Jansma) Aardema, a brother and two sisters.
