JULIA J. (KUMFER) NIX-KONKLE, 83, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a homemaker and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Surviving are her sons, Charles Nix, James (Becky) Nix, Peter (Judy) Nix, Jerry T. (Kathy) Nix, Joseph C. Nix and Daniel R. Nix. all of Fort Wayne and Paul (Ann) Nix of Fishers, Ind.; daughters, Joan M. Miller, Patricia Maggart, Deborah Nix, Nancy Miller and Jeanna E. (Thomas) DeHaven all of Fort Wayne & and Linda Nix of Columbia City; stepsons, Dale Konkle of Decatur and James Konkle of Fort Wayne; stepdaughter, Debra Steele of Fort Wayne; 39 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; brothers, George (Delores) Kumfer of Columbia City and John (Brenda) Rock of Fort Wayne; sisters-in-law, Wilma, Lydia and Mary Kumfer all of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret (Wolf) Kumfer; first husband, Eugene P. Nix; second husband, Jack Konkle; son, John F. Nix; sisters, Margaret Beckman and Agnes Farrell; and brothers, Charles, Elmer, Leo and Steve Kumfer. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road with calling one hour prior. Fr. Tony Steinacker officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with Rosary at 4:30 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
