OBITUARY
Myrtie Frances, youngest and only daughter of Henry J., and Mary Dickson Hall, was born near Dudley, Illinois, October 2, 1881 and passed away at her home south of Oliver, at one o'clock, Sunday afternoon, April 14, 1935, aged 53 years, 6 months and 12 days. Her passing was in keeping with her life- quiet and peaceful.
Her father was called home when she was a small child and at the age of thirteen her mother passed away, leaving her in the care of an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Parrish of Oliver.
On September 10, 1905, she was united in the holy bonds of wedlock with Robert Davis, Bro. A.J. McCash performing the ceremony. No children were born to this union, a foster daughter, Marie Flynn, now Mrs. Rufus Rhoades was reared by them.
She professed faith in her Savior and was baptized into the Church of Christ at Oliver, April 10, 1898 and lived true to her faith until death. From childhood Myrtie had not been very strong and rugged, but in devotion to home and parents, and foster parents and later in life to husband and her own home she stood second to none. Several years of her life were spent in tenderly caring for an afflicted sister-in-law. She willingly devoted her time and gave her strength in caring for his afflicted one.
She had been a patient sufferer for several years with cancer, but she made a brave struggle for life, and all that love, money, medical skill and prayer could do, was done, but all in vain. In her departure we would not question the wisdom of Him who reigns supreme, but in humble submission, say: "Thy will be done," we are satisfied that in the long roll of mortality of 1935, none will be better prepared for heavenly honors than she.
Besides the bereaved husband she is survived by three brothers, Albert and Bruce Hall of Los Angeles, California, and Harris E. Hall of near Oliver, besides a large circle of relatives and friends.
The funeral services were conducted at the Church of Christ at Oliver on Tuesday afternoon following her death, Bro. Goodman Forsythe officiating.
One by one our loved ones leave us
As the hour of life grows late. One by one our partings grieve us, They are passing through the gate. One by one we all are going Down the pathway, steep and straight. Oh, the joy there is in knowing We shall meet beyong the gate.
