Dorothea "Dot" C. (possibly for Charlene, her mother's middle name) was the daughter of Claud Hugh Sickels (1876 - 1962) and Daisy Charlene Fertich (1877 - 1947) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and later Bethesda, Montgomery County, Maryland.

Dorothy married Anthony F. Grasso, and the detail of this information is unknown, although genealogical research is underway. In the 1930 US Federal Census, she is noted as being a stenographer for a tire company, and later it is known that she worked for the government in Washington, DC. According to a family member, she had a number of interests including being a member of the Mayflower Society.
