Father Of Kokomo Police Officer Expires After Long Illness

Clark A. Criss, age 71, father of Oscar D. Criss, member of the Kokomo police department, died at 2:45 o'clock Sunday morning at his home, three miles southeast of Burlington. He suffered and attack of double pneumonia late in February and death resulted from congestion of the lungs.
Mr. Criss moved from Decatur, Ill. In March, 1901 and has resided on the farm on which he died since that time.
He is survived by the widow, Mary M. Criss, and five children, including besides the son in Kokomo; Herschel W. Criss, Anna B. Smith and Clark W. Criss, all living on farms and Orville D. Criss, who is a guard at the state penitentiary at Michigan City. Thirteen grandchildren survive also. Four children, Millard H., Earl, Raymond and Eva Irene, preceded the father in death.
Funeral services will be held at Shiloh M. E. church, six miles west of Jefferson street road, Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will follow in Shiloh cemetery.
