Ona Inez Lewis, age 88, of Hollis, passed away early Sunday morning, August 12, 2012 at Colonial Manor Nursing Center in Hollis, OK. Mrs. Lewis was born in Hollis, on June 17, 1924, to Oscar and Artie (Hames) Green. Inez attended school at Dodson, TX, Arnett and LaCasa before moving to Hollis. At the age of 16, she married Arnice (A.D.) Lewis on June 30, 1940, and he preceded her in death on August 3, 1994, after 54 wonderful years of marriage. In May of 1962, Inez was in a tragic vehicle accident and their only child, Ronnie, was killed and she was severely injured. A long-time member of the Church of the Nazarene, Inez was a homemaker all of her life, who loved cleaning her home and taking care of her family. Preceded in death by her parents, her son, her husband, two sisters, Willie Jones and Viola Moates, and one brother, James Green. She is survived by two nieces, Elaine Woods andher husband Kenneth, of Hollis, and Dianna Branigan and husband, Gary, of Arlington, TX, along with several other relatives and many friends.
