David M. Salvaterra, 75, of 319 Second St., Solvay, was pronounced dead on arrival Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Mr. Salvaterra was a life resident of the Syracuse area. He retired as a painter after 45 years with Allied Chemical Co.
Mr. Salvaterra was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church, Solvay, and a former president of the Solvay Tyrol Club. He was a member of the Solvay Tigers Athletic Club, the Solvay-Geddes Community Youth Center, United Mine Workers District 50 and Allied's 40-Year Club. Mr. Salvaterra was also a member of the Tirolesi Alpine Club and the Pinnacle Rod and Gun Club, Oneonta.
Surviving are his wife, the former Rose Berger; two sons, David J. of Clay and William R. of Solvay; three brothers, William F. of Amboy, Dominick of Elbridge and Guy of Camillus; four sisters, Julia Smith of Pennsylvania, Olive Reutter of Chittenango and Mary and Elizabeth Salvaterra, both of Amboy; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bagozzi Twins Funeral Home, Solvay, and 9 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church. Burial will be in Belle Isle Cemetery, Camillus.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Ave.
