Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Raymond Stephens, Hugh Campbell, Sam Knight, J. J. Tracy, Cecil Milner and Reid Nitcholas.
A reception honoring Mrs. Chapman will be held at the Finley Cultural Center, 500 N. Elm Street. after the services.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman.
Mrs. Chapman died Thursday, Oct. 27, at her residence.
She was born March 25, 1929, in Van Alstyne to Samuel Douglas Purdom and Ovie Strong Purdom. She married Thomas Delbert "Bert" Chapman on April 10, 1954. He preceded her death on Jan. 9, 1993.
Mrs. Chapman was a 1946 graduate of Sherman High School. She was a member of the Mary Paul Brown Book Club and Sherman Service League. She was also a lifelong member of the Central Christian Church where she served in the Brotherhood Sunday School Class and was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship.
Survivors include two daughters, Candice Chapman Nitcholas of Round Rock and Lisa Chapman Rosenfeld of Houston; two grandchildren, Megan Leigh and Reid Chapman Nitcholas; one sister, Eleanor Halliday of Sherman; one brother, Billy Purdom of Beaumont; two brothers-in-law, W. S. Long and Harve Chapman, and two sisters-in-law, Edna Earl Grant and Agnes Chapman, all natives of Sulphur Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Pauline Swann, Irene Thrasher, Louise Meredith and Bettye Ruth Stephens; and two brothers, Marshall and Robert Purdom.
