Abe. L. Hoffman, 82, former city attorney, died Jan. 27. services will be at 2 p.m. Monday Jan. 30 at Feldman Mortuary. Internment will be private. Mr. Hoffman, a native of Denver, was born May 4, 1906. He was a 1923 graduate of East High School. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Illinois in 1928, and Order of the Coif from the University of Illinois Law School in 1934. He married the former Florence Fahlstrom on June 17, 1931 in Chicago. Mr. Hoffman worked as an attorney for the U. S. Securities and Exchange Commission from 1936 to 1945, then returned to Denver as an attorney for a welfare program. He was Denver city attorney from 1949 to 1950, before entering a private law practice. He was a member of the Hebrew Educator Alliance, Denver Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association, the Westerners, and the Colorado Historical Society. He is survied [sic] by his wife, Florence of Denver, two daughters, Deborah Bendele of Arvada and Susanna Hoffman of Oakland, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
