Mildred G. Callender, 84 of Friendship, died Wednesday July 27, 2011 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born, June 18, 1927 in Fleming, Ky to the late Edgar and Lillie Jolley George. Mildred was a 1945 graduate of Portsmouth West High School. She was retired from the Division of Parks and Recreation of the State of Ohio and was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the American Legion. Mildred loved to collect pictures of her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and hang them through out her home. She recently welcomed her 6th great grandchild Hayden.

Mildred is survived by 3 daughters; Gaye (Tom) DePriest of Oil City, PA, Rebecca Taylor (Harold) White of Stout and Jamie L. Miller of Friendship, 6 grandchildren: Cassandra L. (Frank) Prastine of Cincinnati, Amanda M Taylor of Stout, Heather (Nick) Skowski of Oil City, Pa., Jarrod (Courtney) DePriest of Rocklin, Ca., Justin J. Miller and Kaylin E. Miller both of West Portsmouth, 6 great grandchildren; Kurtis J. Morgan and Sean M. Prastine both of Cincinnati, Nicole Skowski of Oil City, PA, Brooklin and Beckett DePriest both of Rocklin, CA. and Hayden J. Miller of West Portsmouth, she also has a special friend Ted Hamilton of New Boston and 1 surviving aunt.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday July 30, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with interment in Friendship Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 8:00 PM on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
