Services will be Thursday, July 28, at 2 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with the visitation from 1 p.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
The former Donna Erickson was born in Moline on April 8, 1926, to Edmund and Myrtle (Bodine) Erickson. On June 11, 1950, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline, she married Eugene "Bill" Boyer. They joined Faith Lutheran Church shortly thereafter, and have been active members for 61 years.
She graduated with the Moline High School Class of 1944, and attended Augustana College in Rock Island. As her children were growing, she was active in PTA and church. She enjoyed being a "Picture Lady" at Ben Franklin Elementary School for several years. She loved to travel on family vacations, and a highlight for her was a trip to Sweden, where she was able to research her Swedish heritage.
In addition to her husband, Bill, survivors include a daughter, Lynn Boyer of Chicago; and two sons, Dale Boyer of Chicago, and Larry Boyer of Silver Springs, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Reid Edmund Erickson.
