Hiram Buckner, 71, of Haleyville, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville. Rev. Richard Crumpton will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Cemetery.
Buckner was born on Jan. 5, 1938.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Horace Buckner and Amy Gertrude Thomas; two brothers, Raynard and Fred Buckner, and two sisters, Polly Pierson and Peggy Buckner.
He is survived by a brother, Robert (Evelyn) Buckner; a sister, Carolyn (Virgil) Vaughn; five nephews, Raynard, Kevin and Gary Buckner and Greg and Bruce Wilson, and four nieces, Linda Pounders, Becky Otto and Carol and Brittany Buckner.
