HOWARD L. MULLENS, 87, of South Point, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 6, 2008, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born March 17, 1921, in Wayne County, West Virginia, to the late Floyd and Ida O'Dell Mullens. He retired as the manager of Ralph's Market of Parkersburg, W. VA. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastors Jerry Matt and Bill Holley, 11 a.m. Saturday at the Reger Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Wayne, W. VA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, James Mullens and one sister, Velora Plummer. He is survied by three sons, Howard Mullens, Jr. of Hurricane, W. VA., Mike Mullens of South Point, Ohio, and Greg Mullens of Ironton, Ohio, and one daughter, Kaye Dailey of South Point, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Kelli Helton, Todd Mullens, Shane Overby, Scott Overby, Angie Jolicoeur, Stephanie Mastin and Natalie Harvery; one brother, Sam Mullens; two sisters, Ruth Powers, Gladys Plummer, and a special companion, his dog Zoe. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington, W. VA. (END)

His first marriage was to Violet Estelle Hudson around 1942 or 1943 with whom he had a son also named Howard Lee Mullens, Jr. of Durham, NC. He and Violet's marriage ended in divorce when Howard, Jr. was a toddler.
