Mrs. Beatrice "Betty" Church, 81, of Rockton, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at home, surrounded by her loving and caring family. She was born in Beloit on Oct. 3, 1929, to Charles E. and Yvonia (Antrim) Bell. She graduated from Janesville Wis High School, Class of 1948. She was joined in marriage to Mr. Leroy H. Church, of Janesville, on March 11, 1950. Mrs. Church worked at a variety of jobs. She worked at Yates American and Beloit Iron Works, now known as Beloit Corp. She also worked at the Holiday Inn Express and the Wagon Wheel Candy Kitchen. Mrs. Church was involved in many activities over the years. She mentored numerous ministers, worked as a Rock County Jail Chaplain, and worked at the Voters Polling Place as an Election Judge. She was involved at the Rockton Historical Society. She sang with the Beloit Goldenairs and was part of the Neighborhood Friendship Club. She volunteered at the Salvation Army. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Together, Betty and Leroy traveled extensively around America. She is survived by her children: DiAnna (Bruce) Church-Rosquist of Caulfield, MO, Melody Ann (Keith) Latsch of Milton, WI, and John Leroy (Sharron) Church, Douglasville, GA; two brothers, Larry Charles Bell of Oklahoma and Ernie Paul Bell of Beloit; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy H. Church; one son, Fred Charles Church; her parents, Charles E. Bell and Rev. Yvonia J. Antrim-Bell; and her sister, Florence Campbell.
