Ella May Boss, 89, was born at Walford City [sic Watford], N.D., a daughter to Joseph and Anna Yoder- Stoll.

She grew up in Minnesota and was married to Vernon Boss on March 1, 1948. She came to the Willamette Valley in 1968 making their first home in Brownsville area and then moving to the Hubbard area in 1969. She was a member of the Hopewell Mennonite Church at Hubbard. She loved children and worked as a baby-sitter for most of her life. She enjoyed quilting, puzzles, knitting and singing.

Ella is survived by seven children: Vernadine Grimes (Pat) of Hermiston, Judy Stauffer (Clair) of Redding, Penn., Mark Boss (Enid) of John Day, Marvin Boss (Esther) of Molalla, Maurice Boss (Jane) of Colton and Melvin Boss (Deloris) of Brownsville; six brothers, Joseph, Lloyd, Warren, Raymond, Roger and Roy Stoll and two sisters Doris Eby and Carol Hensley. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon, one daughter Corrine Bontrager (Ron), three sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services will be held Dec. 28 [2011] in the Hopewell Mennonite Church east of Hubbard on Whiskey Hill Road. Interment is in the Hopewell Mennonite Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Cornwell Colonial Chapel.
