Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy—having served just after World War II in the late 40s—and did a tour on the USS Hornet (CV-12). In November 1951 he married Marilyn "Francine" Brewer and went on to have three children. He spent most of his working career with the Anaheim City School District as a custodian for Edison Elementary. He later retired, but then went back to working for another district—Corona Norco Unified—as a crossing guard.
In addition to his wife and children he is survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
