.......Mrs. Payne was born 68 years ago in Brooklyn. The greater part of her married life was spent with her husdan, the late Capt. Albert Payne and her family at their fine old home on Seaman Ave., Bayport......
Mrs. Payne was one of the very prominent workers in the Congregational Church for many years and gave her time and thought to quietly carrying out many philanthropic deeds. When she left Bayport more than four years ago, after the death of her husband, she left behind a long record of beautiful service to the community
...... For four years she made her home with her only daughter, Anna and a son, Ralph, in Newark. Seven months ago they moved to ..... Maplewood, a suburb of Newark.
Mrs. Payne is survived by a sister, Miss Jennie H. Pessinger, of Plainfield; a daugher, Miss Anna L. Payne, of Maplewood; and four sons, Theordore, of Irvington: Irving, of Calgary, Can.; George Howard, of Yuma, Ariz., and Ralph W. Payne of Maplewood.
Funeral services were held at her late home Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. Joseph F. Folsom, pastor of the Clinton Avenue Presbyterian Church, of Newark, officiated. The interment which was private was made Thursday morning in Cypress Hills Cemetery, Brooklyn.
