THE PARIS NEWS, July 17, 2011, Page 6A. - TOLAR - Vysta Gaynell Blackburn Adams, 81, departed her earthly residence on Friday, July 15, 2011. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, at Tolar Baptist Church with interment scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Paris. Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Wiley Funeral Home.

She was born Oct. 3, 1929, in Reno, the daughter of Walter and Allie Gibson Blackburn. She graduated from Paris High School and Farmers Business College in Paris. She had lived in Paris, Gainesville, Decatur, Hillsboro, Taylor, Killeen and Tolar. She volunteered as treasurer of the Killeen Area United Way, the Salvation Army, Brazos Pregnancy Center and was a member of the Lake Granbury Medical Center Auxillary.
She served on the executive board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas from 1996 to 1999. She was a member of the Tolar Baptist Church.

She was prededed in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Adams; brother, Rex Blackburn; and grandson, Zachary Adams.

Survivors include a son; a daughter; 3 grandchildren ; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
