PEORIA -- James Lewis Claybon, 70, of 2127 W. Virginia died at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 1995, at his home.

Born June 25, 1925, in Mason, Tenn., to John A. Jr. and Della Mae Hill Claybon, he married Carmen E. Virden on Dec. 29, 1973, in Peoria County. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mizine Randle of Peoria and Sylvia Murdock of Austin, Texas; one stepson, Danny Rogers, and one stepdaughter, Karen Johnson, both of Peoria; two brothers, Albert and John Claybon of Nashville, Tenn.; seven sisters, Evelyn Teamer and Cleo B. Carter, both of Detroit, Della M. Smith of Memphis, Tenn., Louise Fayne and Doris Young, both of Brighton, Tenn., and Pearl Culbreath and Gloria Jean Claybon, both of Warrensville Heights, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren. One daughter, two brothers, one sister and one stepdaughter preceded him in death.

He was a meat packer at Wilson Foods for 19 years, retiring in 1986. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Friendship Baptist Church. The Rev. Willie Williams Sr. will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Entombment will be in Parkview Mausoleum. Arrangements are by T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel.
